This standard Rental Agreement ("Agreement") represents a legally binding contract between Rentonn.in (operating through its registered company and authorized vendor/hub partners, hereinafter referred to as the "Lessor") and the individual customer who books the vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the "Hirer").
1. Vehicle Handover & Physical Inspection
- ◆
The Lessor delivers the vehicle to the Hirer in a safe, roadworthy condition, with all basic registration documents (copy of RC, insurance, and permit) located in the vehicle's storage compartment.
- ◆
The Hirer must physically inspect the vehicle (including tires, brakes, lights, indicators, body panels, and initial damage status) before leaving the hub. Any pre-existing damage, scratches, or defects must be documented and reported to the hub executive. By driving the vehicle away, the Hirer acknowledges that the vehicle was received in good operational condition.
- ◆
The handover is strictly conditional upon the validation of the Hirer's original physical Driving License and Aadhaar Card.
2. Refundable Security Deposit
The Hirer agrees to pay a refundable security deposit at the time of booking. The deposit is held by the Lessor as security for the performance of the Hirer's obligations under this Agreement.
Upon return, the vehicle will be inspected by hub executives. The Lessor reserves the right to deduct amounts from the security deposit to cover:
- ◆
Any physical damage, scratches, dents, or broken parts.
- ◆
Late return fees (charged at the standard hourly rate plus an administrative fee).
- ◆
Excess kilometer usage beyond the package limits.
- ◆
Traffic violation fines, speed trap penalties, or parking tickets issued during the rental period.
3. Prohibited Usage & Safety Rules
The Hirer agrees to abide by the following safety regulations:
- ◆
The Hirer must wear a ISI-certified helmet at all times when riding. The pillion rider must also wear a helmet as per Motor Vehicles Department rules.
- ◆
Sub-leasing, lending, or letting unauthorized third parties operate the vehicle is strictly prohibited. The Hirer remains solely responsible for the vehicle.
- ◆
The vehicle must not be used for racing, stunts, commercial goods delivery, towing other vehicles, off-road riding, or transport of contraband.
- ◆
Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or medications that impair coordination is illegal and constitutes a major breach of this Agreement.
4. Accident, Damage, & Theft Policies
- ◆
In the event of an accident, collision, or mechanical breakdown, the Hirer must stop the vehicle immediately and contact Rentonn customer support.
- ◆
Baseline rental fees do not include damage coverage. If the Hirer selected optional insurance cover during checkout, claims will be processed as per the insurance policy. The Hirer remains liable for the non-claimable portion (depreciation, deductibles, excess) or full costs if the claim is rejected due to violating safety rules (e.g., drunk driving or unlicensed riding).
- ◆
If the vehicle is stolen, the Hirer must file a police FIR immediately at the nearest station and notify the Lessor. The Hirer remains fully liable for the value of the vehicle if the keys are not returned or if negligence is proven.
5. Repair & Maintenance Authority
The Hirer shall not perform any mechanical alterations, bodywork, or parts replacements without prior written consent from the Lessor. Any unauthorized repairs or modifications will not be reimbursed and may attract penalties.
6. Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes, claims, or legal proceedings arising out of or in connection with this rental agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kolkata, West Bengal.
